Umar Akmal is a Pakistani cricketer who played for Pakistan National Cricket team between 2009 and 2019 and represented Pakistan in the international cricket. His elder siblings Kamran and Adnan have represented Pakistan as wicket-keepers and Umar himself is a part-time wicket-keeper. Other than that he is a batsman.


He has sparkled sporadically in the ODIs and T20s. Indeed at such a young age, he has many records of his name. In February 2020, Umar has been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board for eighteen months for not disclosing offers related to spot-fixing. He then left Pakistan to sign a short-term contract with Northern California Cricket Association in the United States.

Now the duration of the ban has ended. So in PSL season 7, Umar Akmal has been drafted in the Quetta Gladiators in the silver category. In 2014, Umar had been married to Noor Amna. Umar has played his debut ODI in 2009 against Sri Lanka. Umar has won the hearts of fans because of his sixes and fours.
