Sigh! It’s always been extremely painful and difficult to write about Dua Zehra’s case. This case always makes us run short of words. Today’s hearing in Sindh high court has literally made public witness the most distressful situation. Dua Zehra was allowed to meet her parents for just five minutes! Those five minutes for which definitely she and her parents have waited for almost two months.
According to her father he fully assured her of his support and made sure that nobody would harm her or them as well, she kept crying and told her parents that she wanted to go with the home. She was ready to give her statement in front of judge. Following Zehra’s consent, her father immediately rushed to make it possible to take her stance but it was rejected on court’s part.
Her mother went unconscious outside the courtroom, she couldn’t tolerate the stress and the pressure that female police constables were putting on her. Zehra also told her mother that she is in stressed and wants to go with her. That man in white clothes insulted them and took Zehra away from them. How painful and agonistic it would be for them to see their innocent daughter in such an uncertain situation.
People are also praying for Zehra and she has emerged as the daughter of whole nation. The trauma and mental torture she’s facing is definitely putting adverse effects on her mind. People are of the view that this case is raising immense questions about Pakistan’s law and enforcement agencies and judicial system.
