Recently the very famous Pakistani TV channel, Ary Digital just started their new drama serial, Habs which is currently airing. In this serial, they introduced a new actress named Janice Tessa. She is playing the role of the heroine’s younger sister.
Although, it is her very first drama serial, but she is getting fame because of her acting skills. Last week, the very famous magazine of the entertainment industry, Fuchsia Magazine invited her to their show and interviewed her. Where she shared that she is a film graduate from Lahore. Janice Tessa shared that she started posting her TikTok videos a few years back. And it was just a hobby and just to pass time. She never knew that she will become an actress. But her few videos started becoming viral due to her expression game and then she got offers from the industry.
The host asked that it is heard that you are mistreated a little bit due to your skin color. On this Janice, replied, A little bit, no not a lion bit but a lot. She further said that I have been bullied since my school, because of my skin that which is so dark and this and that. There was one time that I was getting an advertisement from a network, but then they pitched to me that no we need a white colored girl at that time I was okay. But then my question was, can I or girls like me tan or dark colored not allow to use these networks? Are only white people use these networks? Then what’s the difference? She further told that when I entered the industry, some people also said to me that if you want the main lead you have to be white, there is no other option. She further said that on Youtube under my drama episode in the comment section, people are crazy about my skin color. Literally, they gave me the name ‘kali’. But now, I am usually of all such things. So this all didn’t affect me. But I think it is very important that we have to change this perspective of thinking from over society. Have a look!
